SY Sonas is an old brightly coloured Stornoway fishing boat. It is the play of colour and light which attracted the artist to the bow of this boat. “Sonas” means “carefree”. Stornoway harbour has a fishing fleet of about seventeen trawlers and is a hive of activity.
